Hello! I’m Kate McGuinness
I am an illustrator, product designer, and mum-of-two based in Wellington, New Zealand.
My practise is focused on capturing social moments, in my local suburbs, city and beyond. I use digital illustration as a unique channel to share my love of storytelling.
Prior to having children, I worked as a secondary school teacher for English, Media studies and Visual Arts in New Zealand and abroad. Today, my work exists in the intersection of both education and design, and I am always looking for new opportunities to explore this relationship.
During the lockdown period, I took up the global #100daychallenge – in which artists set a 100-day challenge for themselves and shared the project through my Instagram @studio_of_kate.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Design, Bachelor of Arts & Graduate Diploma of Teaching.
